Offenburg University's location in southwest Germany has led to the forging of partnerships with the numerous internationally active companies in the region. Thus the University benefits from and at the same time contributes to the internationalization of the region.

In 1998, Offenburg University was one of the first institutions of higher education in Germany to introduce international Master's degree programs through its Graduate School. Today the University offers a number of international, English-language study programs. These programs cater especially to international students, who comprise over twelve percent of our student body.

Moreover, the University maintains active exchange programs with more than 50 partner universities worldwide, providing our students with numerous opportunities to study and do internships abroad. Thanks to our proximity with the French border, we also offer double-degree programs with prestigious French universities.

Our support of international students extends well beyond academics and the classroom. Students may receive help finding accommodation, participate in cultural programs and language courses, and receive advice on their studies and everyday issues during their stay.

After they have left the University, international students can stay connected through the Alumni Network, which consists of former Offenburg-University students from all departments who are now living in various locations around the globe. The Network has established a platform that lets students cultivate contacts, establish new relationships and share information.
