A place to build your future
Founded in 1964, the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences quickly established itself as an impressive and high performance educational institution. Originally founded as the "National School of Engineering", our University has developed into a thriving community, with approximately 4,000 students on two different campuses. We offer both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in four different departments: Business Administration and Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering, and Media and Information.
In this section you can learn about the University's international profile, excellent study conditions, economic partnerships and research and technology.

International profile
Offenburg University of Applied Sciences prides itself on the international orientation of its programs. In 1998, our University was one of the first institutions of higher education in Germany to introduce international Master's Degree Programs through our Graduate School. Today, we offer five different programs, all of which cater especially to international students, whom comprise twelve percent of our student body. Additionally, the International Office maintains active exchange programs with more than 50 partner universities worldwide, giving our students more opportunities at study and internships abroad. Due to our proximity with the French border, we also have double degree programs with prestigious French universities.

Excellent study conditions
Since the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences offers a smaller campus, students benefit from the advantages of a more intimate experience with smaller classes. Students will encounter individual supervision by the lecturers, with extensive support services, hands-on teaching and a close integration with the regional economy. Additionally, the University enjoys high rankings and was even awarded by the Association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities in Germany for being a reformed technical college.

Economic partnerships
The University has excellent relations with regional and national businesses, greatly influencing its economic impact. These business partnerships develop into resources for students who would like to utilize these relations for gaining work experience or even for future employment. There is additionally a constant exchange of information between our professors and engineers, allowing for continuing access to current knowledge concerning the profession.

Research and Technology
The University offers a combination of research and technology transfer through the Institute for Applied Research (IAF). The IAF heads technology and innovative ideas from the fields of solar energy, medicine, robotics and electrical mobility. Throughout the University, there is a great interdisciplinary mix of experts from different technological fields possessing special knowledge and modern laboratories. The application-oriented research activities and practical experience that the University offers are a testament to its high performance.
