Sustainable Energy Systems

Sustainable Energy Systems

Modern energy management means intelligent network management and the use of renewable energy sources (e.g. photovoltaics, energetic biomass). This requires sustainable and cost-effective technologies for energy generation, storage and usage. Distribution grids and feeds must become grid-friendlier, and the building sector must become climate-neutral.

The Institute of Sustainable Energy Systems (INES) is the main contributor to this focus. INES is based at the Research and Innovation Center of Energy Technology (RIZ Energie) on the Offenburg Campus.

Title ETNavi Kooperation
Short Name ETNavi
Short Description Stakeholder decision-making in energy policy and the communication of research results on the transformation of energy systems often do not coincide. The underlying processes, e.g. acceptance of the various interest groups, have been partially researched. Nevertheless, there is almost no consideration of these processes in models and analyses of the transformation of energy systems. With the establishment of an international cooperation, a proposal for an international research training group is to be developed in order to investigate the outlined research gap in three main topics.
