2026 Christmas Lecture featuring Neutrinos and Us
Under the theme “Christmas Lecture: Neutrinos and Us,”
the three professors—Dan Curticapean, Dominik Giel, and Dragos Saracsan—will guide
us safely through the world of so-called “ghost particles.” This is because neutrinos—electrically neutral elementary particles with a very small mass—interact with matter only extremely rarely and are therefore very difficult to detect. In an entertaining program, the three professors will show how it is possible nonetheless and shed light on the underlying principles through astonishing experiments.
Attendance at the Christmas lecture is free, but seating is limited. Anyone who wants to be sure to join this journey through the world of ghost particles should reserve a seat as soon as possible. A portion of the seats can be reserved now at https://events.hs-offenburg.de/e/weihnachtsvorlesung. Doors open on December 16 at 5:30 p.m. All reservations must be claimed by 5:45 p.m.; after that, unclaimed reservations and a small number of additional seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
