Projects You Can Join
In our student projects, all departments work together toward a common goal. The teams include professors, researchers, and students who work together to share their knowledge. For the team to succeed, we need many different types of people: You can work in the lab, handle the finances, manage projects, or plan marketing. Depending on the department, your participation may count toward academic credit. So, find your team and get started:

Honey Newsroom
The Media Department’s “Newsroom Honey” is an online platform where students can publish articles about their studies, campus life, media projects, and personal experiences. The website mixes journalistic content with creative media formats and gives real insights into life and work at Hochschule Offenburg. The goal of the project is to have students create the content, and for it to be for students.
Team Autonomous Car Offenburg
As part of the Team Autonomous Car Offenburg (Taco), students majoring in Informatik, electrical engineering, or related fields develop fully automated driving functions and the necessary software architectures for model vehicles. They then use these vehicles to compete in various competitions.
The RoboCup
In the 1990s, the idea arose to promote science and technology in robotics through the game of soccer. To this end, the "Robot World Cup Initiative," or "RoboCup" for short, was launched. First held in 1997, this international competition aims to build and further develop intelligent robots that, by 2050, will be capable of competing against—and defeating—the reigning soccer world champion. As part of the RoboCup, humanoid and simulated robots compete against their peers on the soccer field once a year.
In addition, there are competitions in which the robots act as “rescuers,” must navigate household or complex industrial environments, or serve as a kind of learning aid designed to boost children’s motivation.

The Teams from Hochschule Offenburg
Hochschule Offenburg has been actively participating in the RoboCup with two teams—and has been extremely successful for many years. While Team Magma competes in the Simulation League, Team Sweaty plays in the Humanoid Robot League.
