Redundancy Technologies for Hybrid Industrial Networks (ReTeNet)

Ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) is supported by wired (Ethernet Time Sensitive Networking – TSN) and wireless (Wi-Fi 6 or 802.11ax) and cellular (5G and 6G to come) technologies, paving the way for multi-technology redundancy using, for example, different 5G or 6G channels, Wi-Fi, Ethernet links, and potentially other wireless protocols. They are a driving force behind the Industry 4.0 and 5.0 transitions. In this thesis, this redundancy will be considered end-to-end (juxtaposition of technologies), relying on realistic simulation for formal validation and on the IRIMAS institute's SMART UHA mobile robots for in-situ experimentation. Im Rahmen des Projekts wird eine Dissertation gefördert.
