With great curiosity and enthusiasm, the students from Offenburg’s advanced sports classes visited the IBMS and spent a double period immersing themselves in the world of applied biomechanics. At various stations, the students were able not only to learn about modern diagnostic procedures but also to try them out for themselves.

On the force plate, jump performance was analyzed and force-time curves were evaluated; on the bicycle ergometer, respiratory and metabolic parameters were measured under real-world exercise conditions. Muscle strength diagnostics using the IsoMed system also impressively demonstrated how precisely training and rehabilitation processes can be managed today.

The visit offered exciting insights into the connection between sports, technology, and science and vividly demonstrated the opportunities that a degree in biomechanics can open up.
