Expert in Data Management and Process Optimization Joins Hochschule Offenburg

Starting in the summer semester of 2026, Dr. Jonas Weigert will share his extensive experience with students as part of the Nagarro Endowed Chair.

After graduating from high school at the Willibald-Gluck-Gymnasium in his hometown of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate, the now 35-year-old first studied mathematics and physical education with the goal of becoming a teacher at the University of Regensburg. Even before passing his state examination, he began a bachelor’s degree program in economics in 2015, with a minor in business education and mathematics, at Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nuremberg. He then went on to earn his master's degree in Business Education there, with a minor in mathematics, and his Ph.D. with a focus on Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Learning Analytics, which he completed in 2022 with summa cum laude honors.

During his time at FAU, he gained his first teaching experience through his work as a student assistant and later as a research assistant. After completing his dissertation on “Developing an Academic Analytics System to Support Quality Management at Universities,” he joined PRODATO Integration Technology GmbH as a Senior IT Consultant in 2022. There, he was responsible for coordinating, establishing, and temporarily leading the Business IT Consulting team with a focus on process optimization; managing a data integration project at a public-sector company; implementing a low-code platform for the digitization of business processes at a federal agency; and leading a project to develop a process-based application. Later, as a Managing Consultant, he also took on leadership of the Process Management and Automation team, as well as the acquisition, management, and coordination of public and private-sector projects, and served as Technical Lead for a digitalization project in the retail sector.

Now, the 35-year-old is returning to teaching at Hochschule Offenburg to share his extensive project experience in the areas of data integration, data strategy, and process optimization and automation—in both the public and private sectors—with students. Weigert will assume the Nagarro Endowed Chair in “Digital Public Management” on March 1 and, starting in the 2026–27 winter semester, will primarily teach in the new degree program “Digital Public Management and Consulting.”
