The rectors, Prof. Dr. Jerzy A. Przyborowski (University of Warmia and Mazury, left) and Prof. Dr. Stephan Trahasch (Hochschule Offenburg, right), signed the agreement on the expanded curriculum for the bachelor's program in International Management Logistics.

As part of the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of their partnership, Hochschule Offenburg and the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) also signed an agreement on an “expanded study program.” As part of this study program, up to five logistics students from UWM can complete an exchange semester during the sixth semester of the bachelor's program in International Management Logistics (IML) at Hochschule Offenburg, which is taught entirely in English. The credits earned during this semester (30 ECTS) will be automatically recognized and applied toward their studies at UWM. Unlike a “double degree program,” however, students do not have the option of earning two degrees. This is simply a specialization, with a pre-determined exchange semester.

German IML students can participate in the exchange program at UWM as regular exchange students, provided they meet the language requirements. However, courses at UWM are taught in Polish.

“I hope to welcome Polish exchange students here soon. They could bring different logistical perspectives and solutions to the lectures, thereby broadening their own horizons and those of the German students,” said IML program director Ingo Dietrich, expressing his enthusiasm for the new agreement. Dr. Tomasz Wierzejski, who heads the logistics program at UWM, is also looking forward to the new ideas that will come from this collaboration. They won’t have to wait long: Four students from Poland have already been confirmed to come to Offenburg for the summer semester of 2027.
