International Students Looking for Rooms
There is a high demand for skilled workers, particularly engineers, in the region. To address this need while also advancing its key goal of internationalization, Hochschule Offenburg has expanded its English-language program offerings for the 2026–27 winter semester to include a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Systems Engineering and an international master's degree program of the same name. This has further increased the number of applications from abroad.
Some of these new international students have found housing in one of the three dormitories, but many are still in need of furnished rooms with cooking facilities or small furnished apartments—including those suitable for shared living arrangements. Due to the continuing tight housing situation in Offenburg and the surrounding area, not all international students have yet been able to find suitable and affordable housing—within easy walking, biking, or bus distance of the Hochschule Offenburg—for their studies, which begin on September 28.
Hochschule Offenburg therefore urgently asks potential landlords in Offenburg and the surrounding area to contact Claudia Michel by phone at 0171/7777214 (in the afternoons) or by email at claudia.michel@hs-offenburg.de.
