IUAS showcases innovations for SMEs
As part of the Zukunft.Lab.Schwarzwald event series, the Institute for Unmanned Aerial Systems (IUAS) at Hochschule Offenburg opened its premises and laboratories to employees and representatives from companies in the region in March 2026. The aim of the format is to make innovations tangible, strengthen knowledge transfer, and create concrete starting points for collaborations.
The event centered on a hands-on tour of five stations, where current research and development topics were presented in a clear and engaging way. In addition to insights into automotive radar systems and ground-penetrating radar, the agenda included demonstrations of drone applications and presentations of research areas in the high-frequency laboratory. Alongside the technical insights, personal exchange played a key role. At the subsequent get-together, researchers and participants had the opportunity to discuss specific use cases and explore potential collaborations.
The Zukunft.Lab.Schwarzwald at IUAS demonstrates how application-oriented research can be communicated in a practical way. Through the close integration of demonstration, dialogue, and networking, the format strengthens collaboration between universities and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and promotes the joint development of innovative solutions.
