Kickoff Meeting for the "RESCUE" Collaboration Project
The two-year project "RESCUE — Radar-Based Environmental Sensing and Search and Rescue in Extreme Situations,” funded under the “Innovative Projects/Cooperative Projects” program of the Universities of Applied Sciences in the State of Baden-Württemberg, is being conducted at the IUAS under the direction of Prof. Dr. Marlene Harter. Project partners include Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, the Ulm Fire Department, and the company Waveye.
The goal of the project is to develop a portable, radar-based system solution for environmental detection and search and rescue during fires, both indoors and outdoors. This could save lives during firefighting operations by helping rescue personnel navigate more effectively and providing them with faster access to people who are trapped or in danger.
