After the first group stage, the second- and fourth-place teams had switched groups again. So this morning, the second group stage began. In Group E, Magma faced BahiaRT (Brazil) as well as Nexus and Dionysus (both from China). They secured two more decisive victories against BahiaRT and Nexus, winning 8–0 and 4–0, respectively. In the match against Dionysus, however, the team conceded its first goals and suffered its first loss. While the loss was deserved overall, the 0–3 score was somewhat more lopsided than the flow of the game suggested. One of the Chinese team’s goals was a fluke, while Magma squandered a very good scoring opportunity.

As the second-place finisher in its group, Magma must now switch groups this afternoon and will face, for the first time in Group H, the still-undefeated Chinese team Apollo3D and the reigning world champion FC Portugal, which, however, has yet to win a match at this RoboCup. Advancing to tomorrow’s semifinals should therefore be feasible, as the top two teams from Group H will move on.
