As part of the European university alliance ChallengeEU, Hochschule Offenburg and the South East European University (SEEU) in Tetovo have jointly developed a new master's program in Informatik at SEEU. This program is offered as a dual-degree program, giving students from both partner universities the opportunity to benefit from the academic and technical expertise of the other University. Students who began the long-standing master's program in Informatik at Hochschule Offenburg in the winter semester of 2026/27 can still submit an application for the dual-degree program with SEEU until January 15, 2027. They will then complete a program with a strong international focus and earn both a German and a Macedonian master’s degree, which will be recognized by both Universities in accordance with the academic regulations and requirements of the program.

This new program represents an important step toward the internationalization of higher education and opens up new opportunities for students seeking a career in one of the most dynamic and in-demand fields in today’s job market. Prof. Dr. Elke Mackensen and Prof. Dr. Tobias Lauer, representing the department of Electrical Engineering, Medical Engineering and Computer Science at Hochschule Offenburg (HSO), highlighted the value of this new collaboration: “We are very pleased that the new double degree in the master's program in Informatik offers students an attractive opportunity to earn a second degree through a fully recognized semester abroad and a jointly supervised Master’s thesis. As a campus-based university, SEEU offers an excellent learning environment and the chance to quickly build connections.” Prof. Dr. Florije Ismaili, Advisor for Academic Planning and Digitalization at SEEU, added: “The new master's program in Informatik at SEEU is a concrete example of the added value that collaboration within the ChallengeEU framework can bring. With the dual-degree model, we offer students a broader, more international academic experience that is closely aligned with the needs of the job market. This is an important step toward the internationalization of our academic offerings and the creation of new opportunities for students’ professional development.”

The Master’s program in Informatik at SEEU is being launched at a time when technology, artificial intelligence, software development, data, and digital transformation are placing new demands on professionals with in-depth knowledge and international experience. This demonstrates once again the universities’ commitment to digitalization, innovation, internationalization, and aligning education with the demands of the future.
