Unternehmen Zukunft: Large Language Models in Business Practice

On October 22, 2026, Hochschule Offenburg will demonstrate how small and medium-sized enterprises can put large language models and agent systems to practical use.

Large language models (LLMs) and agent systems built on them are rapidly transforming the world of work. For small and medium-sized enterprises, this raises very specific questions: Which use cases are truly worthwhile? How can a company’s own documents and data be integrated? And how secure and legally compliant is the use of such systems in business operations?

The workshop “Large Language Models in Business Practice,” part of the “Unternehmen Zukunft” series, is dedicated to addressing precisely these technical and organizational challenges. The presentations will provide insight into the initial findings of the ongoing “LLM-Praxis” research project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR). In addition, experts from regional companies will report on real-world use cases from their day-to-day work.

Topics range from parsing in-house documents to building robust chat agents and controlling ERP and CRM processes via voice commands, all the way to the security of language models. Speakers include representatives from the Institute for Machine Learning and Analytics (IMLA) at Hochschule Offenburg, as well as from BadenIT GmbH, Schrempp EDV GmbH, and Markant Services International GmbH.

Following the presentations, a closing discussion and a meet-and-greet will provide an opportunity to engage with researchers and industry experts and to raise your own questions.

The event is part of the RegioWIN flagship project “Zukunft.Raum.Schwarzwald,” which strengthens the transfer of knowledge and technology between the University and the regional economy.
