Association of Friends and Supporters Visits a Spin-off from Hochschule Offenburg
The Association of Friends and Supporters (VdF) of Hochschule Offenburg had chosen a very special location for this year’s general meeting: Not only does GeneSys Elektronik GmbH have its roots right here in Offenburg and have been closely connected to the university for many years, Furthermore, the company—which today supports customers worldwide in vehicle development with its high-precision #GNSS/#INS #measuring systems—was founded a good 30 years ago from an idea that originated within the University community.
Managing Director Bertold Huber first introduced the company in a presentation and then gave the visiting guests a tour of the facility. During the tour, participants gained a fascinating insight into the company’s day-to-day operations and business practices. As a company with deep regional roots, GeneSys is pleased to be part of the strong VdF network and to contribute to the promotion of innovation, education, and the next generation of talent in the Ortenau region, Huber emphasized.
Afterward, representatives from the University, the business community, and the VdF came together to reflect on the activities of 2025 and discuss current developments and future projects. For more than 60 years, Hochschule Offenburg has been training professionals in the fields of business, technology, and media and is known far beyond the region for its practice-oriented education and strong research. The VdF supports students and university projects where additional funding is needed, ranging from study abroad programs and research trips to student projects and an emergency fund for students. Rector Prof. Dr. Stephan Trahasch briefed those present on, among other things, the further development of the degree programs and current student enrollment figures. He also expressed special thanks to the VdF for its commitment, which has made numerous student projects possible in the first place. There was a change on the VdF advisory board: Dr. Pascale Müller, the University’s transfer manager, and Carola Lasch, the University’s alumni coordinator, took over for the departing members Dr. Ira Pawlowski and Alexandra Huber.
The evening concluded on a high note with an excellent buffet and a stunning view from the GeneSys rooftop terrace, where the evening drew to a relaxed close amid lively conversation.
