For the latest CHE ranking, students in their third semester or later of bachelor's programs in Betriebswirtschaft, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Wirtschaftsinformatik, and Wirtschaftspsychologie were surveyed. They were able to award up to five stars for each of 12 indicators. The results for the Betriebswirtschaft (4.4 to 4.7 stars) and Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen (4.5 to 4.7 stars) programs were significantly above the average of all universities surveyed for all indicators; in seven and four cases, respectively, they were even 0.5 stars or more above the average. Wirtschaftsinformatik scored above average on the “Learning and Work Spaces” indicator (4.2).

In all four degree programs, the “Library” indicator (4.1 to 4.7) received among the highest number of stars. In Betriebswirtschaft and Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, students were also very satisfied with the “General Study Environment” and “Academic Organization” (both 4.7). This was closely followed in Betriebswirtschaft by “Course Offerings,” “Faculty Support,” “Academic Support,” “Digital Learning,” “Career and Practical Orientation,” and “Support for Study Abroad”; and in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, “Course Offerings,” “Faculty Supervision,” “Academic Support,” “Digital Learning,” “career and practical orientation,” “facilities,” “study and work spaces,” and “labs” (4.6 each). In Wirtschaftsinformatik, students also awarded the most stars to the indicators “Organization of Studies,” “Learning and Work Spaces” (4.2 each), as well as “Academic Support” and “Facilities” (4.1 each). Among the highest-rated indicators for Wirtschaftspsychologie were “Introduction to Academic Research” (4.1), as well as “Course Offerings” and “Faculty Supervision.” In the fact check categories “Support at the Start of Studies” (13 and 14 out of a possible 16 points, respectively) and “Contact with Professional Practice” (11 out of 12 in each case), all four degree programs ranked among the top performers. Betriebswirtschaft also achieved this in the “Completion of Degree in a Reasonable Amount of Time” fact check (89.3 percent).

In their comments, Betriebswirtschaft students praised, for example, that “the University offers a wide range of teaching and educational opportunities, whether program-specific or for personal development,” that “a great deal of time is devoted to students, and the professors take care of them,” or that “everything is very well organized, equipped, and highly digitized.” Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen students emphasized that “the courses and exams are very well-organized and structured, and the professors and instructors are very well-prepared,” “that there are enough computers in the computer lab and more than enough really cool study rooms with modern equipment,” and that “in case of illness, lectures can be switched to online format on short notice.” The Wirtschaftsinformatik students once again mentioned the “small but excellent library,” and the Wirtschaftspsychologie students emphasized that “the organization of the program is great; the best part is the class schedule, which is put together very, very well, without waiting times or long breaks.”

Prof. Dr. Thomas Baumgärtler, vice dean for academic affairs and teaching at the department of business, commented on the results on behalf of all participating professors: “The fact that the Betriebswirtschaft and Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen programs continue to rank among the top business programs in Germany is both a confirmation and an incentive to keep our high-quality offerings attractive to students and companies and to continuously develop them further. The same, of course, applies to Wirtschaftsinformatik and Wirtschaftspsychologie.”

“The evaluations show that our approaches to ‘good teaching’ are successful. The generally very good organization of the programs, the modern teaching and learning methods, the strong commitment of many of our faculty members, and the Hochschule Offenburg’s focus on practical relevance are highly valued by our students, as the ranking demonstrates. “I would like to thank everyone in the Department of Business who contributed to this excellent result with their great dedication,” said Prof. Dr. Grit Köhler, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Hochschule Offenburg.
