Where elite sports, aerodynamics, and Biomechanik converge
Join us live as staff members from the Institute for Advanced Biomechanics and Motion Studies (IBMS) once again bridge the gap between research and practice on Friday, October 9, starting at 3 p.m., once again bridge the gap between research and practice, combining scientific precision with the dynamics of elite sports, bicycle technology, and orthopedics. The event kicks off at Hochschule Offenburg’s Campus West, Max-Planck-Straße 1, as it should, with a warm-up session titled “Welcome and Networking.”
Starting at 4 p.m., it’s time for “The Pros Share Their Secrets!” Martin Schmitt, ski jumping legend and Olympic champion, and Simon Geschke, Tour de France stage winner, will join other participants in a panel discussion to discuss both aerodynamics and the perfect takeoff, as well as biomechanical efficiency in professional cycling.
Hands-on research and lab activities are on the agenda starting at 5 p.m. Interactive lab tours and hands-on experiments, a live vote for the Best Poster Award via Mentimeter, company presentations, as well as snacks and cold drinks await prospective students, experts, and other visitors.
