move.mORe at the 11th Mobility Day in Offenburg
The move.mORe project was once again represented at this year’s Mobility Day. The goal of this joint project between the universities of Karlsruhe and Offenburg is to promote and strengthen sustainable mobility in rural areas of the Upper Rhine region. To that end, there were once again various demonstrations and hands-on activities for visitors to try out in the city center.
Among them was the popular electric car driving simulator. Here, interested visitors could take part in the Eco-Challenge and experience how sustainable driving works in practice. Those who wanted to delve even deeper into the world of sustainable energy systems could explore the mobile showroom.
An interactive e-bike simulator then let participants hop right onto a virtual bike, complete with realistic riding physics, various settings, and the accompanying range app.
The sidewalk simulation “Platz da!?” allowed residents to understand spatial conflicts in pedestrian traffic, and during the mobile pub quiz, Offenburg residents could test their knowledge of climate-friendly forms of mobility.
As a partner of the City of Offenburg, move.mORe presented practical examples, gathered feedback from interactions with visitors, and thus helped raise awareness of sustainable mobility in the region.
