Transfer needs people who build connections
Many companies have specific ideas, technical questions, or an interest in collaborative research. However, they often lack a direct line of communication to the right contact person at the University of Applied Sciences in Offenburg. This is exactly where the new joint transfer manager for the City of Offenburg and Hochschule Offenburg comes in.
Since June 1, Dr. Pascale Müller has been strengthening collaboration between the University, city administration, and the regional business community. Her mission: to bring people, ideas, and expertise together—in a straightforward, practical way that focuses on the region’s innovative potential.
The newly created position is designed to serve as a central hub for knowledge and technology transfer. Companies can contact Pascale Müller if they wish to initiate research collaborations, utilize laboratory infrastructure, or develop new innovation projects. At the same time, she supports networking among companies and guides aspiring entrepreneurs on their journey from idea to implementation.
“Transfer works best when communication channels are short and trust is built,” says Pascale Müller. A native of France, she is already familiar with Hochschule Offenburg from her previous work at the Center for Learning and Teaching. As a physicist, she brings the ability to quickly familiarize herself with a variety of issues and develop appropriate solutions. At the same time, she has a strong regional network and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
In the future, she will work both at the University and at the flow1986 Innovation Park. Initially, a key focus of her work will be on sustainable mobility. As part of the move.mORe project, she will support innovative mobility concepts and organize exchange initiatives between companies, municipalities, and other partners.
This new position also demonstrates how closely the University of Offenburg and the city of Offenburg intend to collaborate. The goal is to actively support innovation processes in the region and significantly facilitate companies’ access to scientific expertise.
For regional companies, this means one thing above all: fewer hurdles, more direct contacts, and new opportunities for collaboration.
