KTUR²

The Knowledge Transfer Upper Rhine 2 (KTUR²) network aims to meet the research and development (R&D) needs of companies. It facilitates access to innovations and technologies available at research institutions in the Upper Rhine region.

KTUR² is also developing a series of continuing education courses to help employees keep pace with socioeconomic developments and stay up to date in their respective fields.

In addition, the project promotes entrepreneurship and the creation of startups within the trinational network and simplifies access to innovation financing in the region.

The Origins of the KTUR Network

The first KTUR project, which launched in October 2019, aimed to make regional and cross-border knowledge and technology transfer between public research institutions and companies more efficient, systematic, and sustainable.

To this end, a network of 12 member institutions was established. It includes the universities of applied sciences in the TriRhenaTech network (Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Offenburg, Furtwangen, Lörrach, and Northwestern Switzerland), the Eucor universities (the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Freiburg im Breisgau, Haute-Alsace, Basel, and Strasbourg), the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau, as well as technology transfer organizations such as Conectus, Grand E-nov+ (Regional Innovation Agency), and the IHK Alsace Eurométropole.

The KTUR network exists thanks to the support of INTERREG Upper Rhine, a program from the region and for the region that has been funding cross-border cooperation projects in the Upper Rhine region since 1989.
