ChallengEU PhD Networking Event at Hochschule Offenburg
From September 24 to 25, 2026, Hochschule Offenburg will host the PhD Networking Event in cooperation with ChallengeEU. Doctoral candidates from all disciplines across the nine partner universities are cordially invited to connect, build international networks, and engage in interactive formats over these two days.
The official language of the entire event is English. Participation is free of charge, but prior registration is required.
Program Overview
Thursday, September 24, 2026 (Day 1)
Barcamp Session: An open, participant-driven workshop format where you can spontaneously bring your own topics and questions to discuss.
Workshop 1: Building Peer Support Structures – Dr. Fred Fellner (ChallengeEU)
Workshop 2: Challenge-Based Research – Ilona Maier (ChallengeEU, potentially with external partners)
Evening Program: A relaxed social get-together to get to know each other and network.
Friday, September 25, 2026 (Day 2)
Lab Visits: Insights into 6 different laboratories and forward-looking projects from various disciplines at Offenburg University.
Second Barcamp Session: In-depth discussion of topics and space for further exchange.
Intercultural Program: An optional cultural activity to wrap up the event together.
Good to know (Wednesday, September 23): The Interdisciplinary Doctoral Colloquium will take place the day before. Whether you would like to present your own research or simply attend as a listener, you are cordially invited to register separately by September 9th (submission deadline for contributions: August 31st) here.
