Big ideas often start small—frequently in a lecture hall or a lab. But how does an idea turn into a successful company? And what does it take for isolated success stories to become the new standard for the region? Anyone interested can find out at the Startup Insights event on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, starting at 4:00 p.m. in Building D, the foyer, and Room D001.

Three startup teams from Hochschule Offenburg that have been supported by the Open Game & Fablab (OGFlab) in recent years will share their real-life stories—including milestones, setbacks, and lessons learned. Former student of Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen Sven Wernert will describe how he founded WePack, an online supermarket based on the “click-and-collect” model. Former Renewable Energy & Data Science student Mohammed Zyan and his partner Rahman Risvi will explain the development of their company, DroneX360, which offers autonomous and pilot-controlled drones, manufacturing solutions, and comprehensive aerial imaging solutions. And Betriebswirtschaft students Nico Kollmer and Paul Müller, both members of the University’s Black Forest Race Lab, will present their idea for a training app for the e-sports car race. During a panel discussion titled “From Idea to Reality: Five Years of Innovation and What’s Next,” OGFlab representatives will also have a frank discussion with experts and the audience about the best possible transfer of innovation. Regional startups will showcase their work at an exhibition in the foyer. To wrap up the event, attendees can network and make valuable connections over snacks and drinks.
