Course Content
You’ll learn how to plan budgets, optimize business processes, develop compelling marketing strategies, and successfully manage innovation.
We provide you with a broad foundation in business administration, and starting in the 4th semester, you’ll set your own focus: You’ll choose between the specializations
Controlling & Finance or
Marketing & Sales.
In the Controlling & Finance specialization, you’ll dive deep into the world of financing methods and decisions and learn how decisions are supported and made within companies. You’ll gain an understanding of the entire corporate value creation process and recognize its importance for modern corporate management. Using practical examples, you will develop the necessary expertise in the Finance module to evaluate financing instruments in the capital market and understand lending between banks and companies. The Controlling 2 and 3 modules also provide you with the tools to organize companies using modern IT tools, analyze variances, and efficiently align everything with the set goals.
If you choose the Marketing & Sales specialization, the focus is on customer management in B2B and B2C. You will learn to understand and analyze consumer behavior and apply your knowledge in marketing research as part of a practical project. Data you collect yourself will be analyzed and evaluated using quantitative methods with SPSS. At the same time, in the service and industrial goods marketing track, you will specialize in the specific characteristics of these markets, such as the extended marketing mix and the buying center. You will also reflect on the areas where artificial intelligence is already having an impact today. You will learn how to develop innovations and cultivate long-term customer relationships through targeted Dialogmarketing. In addition to the legal framework, you will gain insight into e-commerce and technical sales so that you are well-equipped to successfully market products and services in both the digital and analog worlds.
We want you to go beyond mere technical knowledge. That’s why there is a range of required electives that you can choose based on your interests. In addition to technical knowledge, you can specifically develop methodological and social skills here: You’ll hone your problem-solving skills, learn modern decision-making and problem-solving techniques, and develop intercultural competencies.
A special highlight: As part of your studies and in collaboration with the IHK, you have the opportunity to complete training as a Certified Human Resources Specialist (IHK) and further sharpen your professional profile!
If you want to think outside the box, the International Business minor provides the ideal springboard for international roles. Requirements for this include passing three English-language exams at Hochschule Offenburg, an English-language bachelor's degree thesis with an international focus, as well as a semester abroad and a practical internship semester abroad.

Hochschule Offenburg charges an administrative fee of 80.00 euros per semester and a social contribution of 65.00 euros for the Studierendenwerk Freiburg. In addition, the University’s student body charges all enrolled students a student body fee of 25.00 euros per semester to fulfill its responsibilities. Students on leave of absence from their studies are also required to pay these fees; however, foreign students enrolled on a temporary basis are exempt pursuant to Section 60(1), sentence 2, of the Higher Education Act (LHG).

Additional Costs for International Master's Programs
Students in international master's programs must also pay a flat-rate service fee of 150.00 euros per semester.
Tuition Fees for International Students and Students Pursuing a Second Degree
Since the 2017/18 winter semester, universities in the state of Baden-Württemberg have been charging international students tuition fees of 1,500.00 euros per semester and students pursuing a second degree 650.00 euros per semester.

Exceptions to Tuition Fees for International Students:
According to Section 3 of the LHGebG, international students who are not citizens of an EU/EEA country and do not hold a German university entrance qualification are required to pay tuition fees. However, the law provides for a few exceptions.

Pursuant to Section 6, Paragraphs 4 and 5 of the LHGebG, Hochschule Offenburg may fully or partially exempt a limited number of international students from tuition fees if it deems them to be particularly gifted. The requirements, etc., are set forth in the bylaws governing tuition fee exemptions for international students based on exceptional talent. BAföG
Information about BAföG is available on the website of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. If you have any questions about BAföG, the Freiburg-Schwarzwald Studierendenwerk—which is responsible for Hochschule Offenburg—will also be happy to assist you under the “Money” section. You can submit applications for financial aid at the Studierendenwerk’s branch office on the Offenburg campus.

Your Application, Step by Step
Here you can find out how to submit an application for our limited-enrollment bachelor's programs (NC). Since these spots are coordinated centrally, you must submit your application through the Hochschulstart portal.
Application period: April 29, 2026, to July 15, 2026
Step 1: Register at hochschulstart.de
First, register once on hochschulstart.de. There, you’ll enter your information and receive two important numbers: your application ID (BID) and your application authentication number (BAN). Make a note of both, as you’ll need them to log in to the Hochschule Offenburg portal (Step 2). You’ll also use your BID and BAN to log in to Hochschulstart later to view your admission offers and accept your spot. This checklist from Hochschulstart (German, pdf) explains exactly how everything works.
Step 2: Registration and Application at Hochschule Offenburg
Register now on our applicant portal and enter your BID and BAN. This will allow some of your data to be transferred from Hochschulstart. You will receive an email from us with your password—please keep this in a safe place. Once you have confirmed your access, you can fill out and submit your online application. You can apply for up to 3 degree programs at the same time. These applications will be considered equally in the admission procedures.
Step 3: Upload documents
Upload the application form and all necessary application documents (see checklist (German, pdf)) directly to the applicant portal. You do not need to send anything to us by mail.
There is one exception: If you are submitting special applications, please send the relevant supporting documents by mail, quoting your applicant number, to the Admissions Office at Hochschule Offenburg.
Important notes for your application:
Completeness matters: We will only process your application if all documents have been received by us by the deadline (deadline: January 15 / July 15). For mail submissions, the date the letter arrives at our office applies, not the postmark.
Include your applicant number: If you submit documents later, please always include your applicant number. You can find it on your application form.
Orientation test: Please remember to take an orientation test before enrolling. You can find more information here: Study Orientation.
(Step 4: Prioritize your applications)
If you are making an application for multiple degree programs, it is important that you prioritize them according to your personal preferences. This is the only way to ensure you receive admission to the program that is most important to you. As soon as you receive an offer for a higher-priority choice, the other options are automatically withdrawn.
You should finalize your list on hochschulstart by July 23, 2026, at the latest. You can find all the details on how and by when to prioritize your applications on hochschulstart.
Step 5: Receive your enrollment documents
As soon as we have received all required documents and the semester contribution on time, we will enroll you at Hochschule Offenburg. That’s it: your student account will be activated and your application account automatically closed. We will mail your login credentials for the university’s online services shortly thereafter.

Step 6: Register for the preparatory courses
In the two weeks before classes begin, preparatory courses in math, physics, and Informatik will be held. Use this time to brush up on your knowledge and make your first connections.

Step 1: Sign-up/Registration and Online Application
First, log in to our portal to complete your application online. There are two ways to do this:
Are you already a student here? Then you don’t need a new account. Just log in at the top right using your existing student account. Under the “Application” menu item, you can select your desired program directly.
Are you new to Hochschule Offenburg? Then first register on our applicant portal. You will receive an email with your password—please keep this in a safe place. Once you have confirmed your access, you can fill out your application online and submit it directly.
Then print out the application and the privacy policy and sign both.
Step 2: Submit your documents
Send us the signed application and the signed privacy policy along with the other documents by mail. You can see exactly which documents we need in the checklist (German, pdf).
Very important: Please be sure to include a current transcript of your academic performance (showing passed, failed, and definitively failed exams).
Want to change your major?
If you have already studied for at least 3 semesters, you must consult with an academic advisor before submitting an application for a higher semester.
Get in touch: Ask the Student Secretariat who chairs the examination board for your desired program.
Get advice: Schedule a meeting with the appropriate person.
Submit proof: Bring the printed consultation form (German, pdf) to the meeting and include the signed proof with your application afterward.
