Everything You Need to Know
Course Content
Business Psychology is applied psychology in a corporate context. You’ll gain a wide range of skills—from the fundamentals of psychology to business administration, law, and ethics, as well as methodological expertise. You’ll learn how people make decisions in the workplace and as consumers, what constitutes good leadership, and how to effectively lead teams in new work environments and when implementing new technologies.
You’ll become familiar with the tools of empirical social research and statistics and further develop your methodology and interpersonal skills. You’ll put your theoretical knowledge to the test directly in projects with companies. In this way, you’ll create real added value for people and organizations.
Choose 1 of 2 specializations and become an expert in your field:
HR & Organizational Development (HROD)
You’ll learn how to find the right talent, shape modern work environments, and confidently guide teams through change processes. You’ll develop the skills to build healthy, future-ready organizations—from psychologically grounded leadership to the strategic management of digital business models.
Marketing-Oriented Management (MOM)
You’ll pursue specialization in order to understand and influence markets. You’ll use your expertise in market and advertising psychology to discover what truly motivates customers. Based on data and facts, you’ll develop compelling strategies for marketing and sales. You’ll learn to build lasting customer relationships and design innovative concepts that make a difference in a digital world.
The elective track offers you additional freedom: Here, you’ll choose exactly what interests you from a vast and diverse catalog—even beyond your own major. Whether at the “Summer School Burgos” or in courses on “Intercultural Leadership”: you’ll strengthen your international confidence and learn how to collaborate successfully in global teams. In the “Hike and Learn Challenge,” you’ll test your limits in nature, while experiments in human-robot interaction let you explore how we physically react to the technology of tomorrow.
Additional Qualification in International Business Psychology
Gain valuable international experience at one of our partner universities. If you complete three courses in English, write your thesis with an international focus and in English, and complete your practical semester abroad, you’ll earn the additional qualification in International Business Psychology. And you’ll be ready for the global job market.
Perspectives
Your degree opens doors for you in all fields where people work together or make purchasing decisions. You’ll be just as in demand at small businesses as you are at global corporations.
Your fields of work:
Human Resources: You identify the right talent and shape modern work environments.
Marketing & Market Research: You analyze what customers really want, develop psychologically grounded strategies, and thereby influence purchasing decisions.
Organizational Development & Consulting: You’ll support change processes in companies and, as a change agent, actively contribute to the further development of organizations.
Continuing Your Education: After completing your bachelor's degree, you can pursue a master's degree in Wirtschaftspsychologie with a focus on leadership and change management, for example.
