Offenburg University is now a member of the European University Association (EUA)

After an affiliation process of several months, Offenburg University this year has become a member of the European University Association, where currently 850 member universities from 47 different countries are represented, all of them with special focus on research.

In the state of Baden-Württemberg, Offenburg University is one of the most research-oriented universities.

In the past three years, research institutes were founded on campus, among them the "Institut für Energiesystemtechnik" (INES) and the "Institute for Unmanned Aerial Systems". Post graduate programmes like "Kleinskalige Erneuerbare Energiesysteme" (KleE) oder "Dezentrale nachhaltige Energiesysteme" (DENE) were set up - and in January the federal state government awarded the project "Regionales Innovationszentrum für Energietechnik" (RIZ Energie). The construction of a new lab building on the Offenburg campus is planned for the next years, where research and development shall be bundled in the fields of environmental technology, renewable energies and efficiency of resources.

The membership with the EUA shall be of great advantage and implies new chances, from access to international research associations to finding new cooperation partners within Europe. Also on the level of exchange of professors and students new impulses are expected.
