Online information session for prospective doctoral students in cooperation with the Doctoral Association Baden-Württemberg (Promotionsverband BW)

Interested in pursuing a doctorate? On Wednesday, March 25, the Promotionsverband BW gives an initial orientation.

Interested in pursuing a doctorate? On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the Doctoral Association Baden-Württemberg (Promotionsverband BW) will be providing an initial orientation from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM!

The following topics will be covered:

  • Personal requirements and challenges: What does it take to do a PhD?
  • Funding: How can I finance my doctoral studies?
  • The Doctoral Association: How does a doctorate via the Doctoral Association of the Universities of Applied Sciences (HAW) work, and which other institutions offer doctoral degrees?
  • Supervision and Preparation: How do I find a supervisor for my dissertation, and how can I use my Master’s thesis to prepare for a PhD?
  • Support: What role do Universities of Applied Sciences play, and what support services are available?

Furthermore, several Universities of Applied Sciences (HAWs) from Baden-Württemberg - including Offenburg University (HSO) - will present themselves and their specific services for doctoral students in subsequent breakout sessions.
