Research and Transfer

Research Institutes

Research, development and knowledge transfer is carried out at eight interdisciplinary research institutes affiliated with Offenburg University:

  • Affective and Cognitive Institute (ACI)
  • Institute of Sustainable Energy Systems (INES)
  • Institute for Machine Learning and Analytics (IMLA)
  • Institut für Nachhaltige Silikatforschung Offenburg (NaSiO)
  • Institute for Trade and Innovation (IfTI)
  • Institute for Unmanned Aerial Systems (IUAS)
  • Institut für verlässliche Embedded Systems und Kommunikationselektronik (ivESK)
  • Peter Osypka Institute for Medical Technology (POIM)

Besides the individual research institutes focused on specific subjects, the Institute for Applied Research (IAF) offers an organizational roof for scientists at the University who do not belong to a research institute. Additionally, the IAF is a contact for interested companies, public institutions and other universities and research facilities. It also acts as a service facility for all researchers and supports the initiation, planning and implementation of R&D projects.
