Research and Transfer
Research
Applied research and development, innovation and technology transfer are among Hochschule Offenburg's key strategic tasks. Together with partners from business, science and society, we are dedicated to current research questions in six main research areas.
All publicly accessible projects have been searchable at these locations since 2014 via the R&D database (known as the “Vorhabenregister”). The three largest research areas are also evaluated via the research map of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK). The projects range from classic contract research to international collaborative research. In 2020, 5.7 million euros were invested in around 130 projects.
The professors and staff members of our eight research institutes focus on specific customized topics, contributing to the innovative strength of the region and especially of small and medium-sized enterprises. All research and transfer activities relating to resource and energy efficiency are also pooled in the Research and Innovation Center of Energy Technology – RIZ Energie. The research magazine "forschung im fokus" reports annually on selected projects and current research topics at the research institutes and faculties.
As one of the most research-oriented universities for applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg, we are increasingly recruiting young scientists and are committed to training doctoral students.
We have a strong network to companies and clusters in the region, but also to research partners in the national and international context. This promotes mutual technology and knowledge transfer and ensures the excellent and practical qualification of our graduates.
