Mohamed Hanbal, an Egyptian alumnus of Hochschule Offenburg's International Business Consulting degree program (IBC), lives in Germany with his wife and little daughter, and he's passionate about supporting people in the conscious planning of their lives.
He explains: "Let me give you some information about my story and what do I do currently. I build people's character through online products and offline services by teaching and adjusting their habits and behaviors, expanding their knowledge and experience, and pushing them to take actions that they are afraid to take, or were always willing to take but avoiding - all of this with one main aim, which is to raise their performance in their private as well as their professional lives so that they can reach their goals and dreams and feel happy.
It was (and still is) a long journey; and to reach this point was not easy. I passed through lots of challenges, setbacks, and failures that I learned from and gave me the persistence to move forward.
In 2010 I left a reputable job with a high salary and emigrated to Germany to pursue the MBA-IBC degree at Offenburg University. It was a hard decision, but it really paid off. From day one at Offenburg University I felt the kindness and support of the people. I saw clearly that almost everyone at the University was trying to help. I was happy but as any other student, I was also worried about the future and what would happen after finishing the program.
During my second semester of study, after sending hundreds of applications and receiving just as many rejections I finally landed an internship and a thesis contract. I started to feel that yes, it was possible. And by the time I was about to graduate, I already had a job contract signed and a position waiting for me.
I worked for five years at a big multinational company in different departments and positions. During my first three years working there, I started my own consulting business on the side, until I reached a specific moment when I wanted to pursue my dream of expanding my business and working on it full-time. And that's how I reached the point where I am today.
I do not know how this journey will look like 10 years from now, but the only thing that I am sure of is that no matter how hard it will be, or how big the setbacks or the failures, the best is yet to come."
