Sustainable Energy Systems

Sustainable Energy Systems

Modern energy management means intelligent network management and the use of renewable energy sources (e.g. photovoltaics, energetic biomass). This requires sustainable and cost-effective technologies for energy generation, storage and usage. Distribution grids and feeds must become grid-friendlier, and the building sector must become climate-neutral.

The Institute of Sustainable Energy Systems (INES) is the main contributor to this focus. INES is based at the Research and Innovation Center of Energy Technology (RIZ Energie) on the Offenburg Campus.

Title Artificial Intelligence using Quantum measured Information for realtime distributed systems at the edge
Short Name A-IQ Ready
Short Description The goal of HSO in the A-IQ Ready project is to research and develope a holistic concept to derive a digital twin of the powertrain. This will be done by using artificial intelligence based on a novel approach that includes the fusion of the training algorithms and the real-world testbench. Thus targeting an enhanced data aquisition as well as a possibility to enable industrial partners to adapt the digital twin directly to their applications. This leads to a novel/greater system monitoring on a component as well as on a system level (e.g. health monitoring, energy consumption, remaining range, ...).
