I thank Prof. Dr. -Ing. Peter Treffinger and the “KleE” management for providing me the funding and support to present my research findings at the Grand Renewable Energy 2014 International Conference and Exhibition, Tokyo, Japan. The conference included delegates from the various energy and heavy process industries, researchers and policy makers from all over the world. It also included field visits to various decentralized energy plants. I presented on the topic titled “Development of simple boiler model required for energy planning process”. The research findings included the development of easy-to-parameterize boiler model along with experimental and validation results. The overall feedback and the critics were positive particularly on the implementation of the modeling approach and research idea. It is due to the fact that the current energy transition scenarios to renewables or other alternatives demand intensive energy planning procedures.
Coming to the conference venue, it gave me an opportunity to further expand my cultural knowledge and diversity as I had been in and round Tokyo metropolitan area for 8 days. The city is fascinating with its own Shinto-Buddhist culture, humungous native population, authentic Japanese food, high rise buildings, well maintained parks, long bridges, complex rail network, heavy industries on one side and the calm serenity of sea on the other side which is a real treat for any visitor wanting to experience it!
