What's it about?

The Master's degree Betriebswirtschaft (Business Administration) builds on Offenburg University's Bachelor's degree program of the same name. It is, however, also suitable for graduates of other degree programs related to business administration.

Study informations

The required courses of this program focus on advanced business topics in an international, globalized corporate context. In addition to electives, taken according to one's interests, the specialization modules provide in-depth study in specific disciplines.

 

Controlling & Risk Management

If you are interested in auditing, compliance, controlling, risk management and corporate management, the Controlling and Risk Management specialization provides you with the necessary tools for a successful start in these exciting, challenging professional fields. While based on in-depth theoretical training, particular importance is placed on the practical relevance of the subjects taught.

Marketing & E-Commerce

This specialization teaches interdisciplinary technical and social skills through marketing and sales projects as well as application-oriented classes on customer-relationship management and e-commerce. Scientific e-commerce methods can be tried out in the various laboratories of the Marketing and Sales division, resulting in hands-on recommendations for action in future business practice.

Lean Management & Virtual Engineering

This specialization teaches how to design lean and sustainable processes, and which digitalized planning methods can be used for that purpose. The Lean Management module builds on knowledge in lean production and expands the focus to value chain management, administrative processes, and sustainability. The Virtual Engineering module teaches skills in digital plant and process planning and simulation.

Logistic Management

In industry and commerce, logistics is an important lever for operational efficiency and market differentiation. Logistics must find answers to the many challenges of the future. In addition to logistics management foundations, therefore, digital solutions and alternative drives are important topics of this specialization. A high level of practical relevance is achieved through exercises, case studies and real projects from industry and commerce.

Business Informatics

Modern IT systems are everywhere in the company, ensuring efficient business processes and enabling data-based decisions and analyses. In the digitalized economy, information technologies are also giving rise to entirely new business models. With the specialization in Business Informatics, you will acquire practice-oriented expertise to be on top of the challenges arising from digitalization.

The Business Administration Master's degree program at Offenburg University takes three semesters to complete and starts in both the winter and the summer semester. You can choose two specializations out of the five offered.

 

The aim of the Master's degree program is to provide you with comprehensive knowledge of internationally oriented business administration, which is why some lectures are also offered in English. The practice-oriented teaching of key qualifications enables graduates to work out complex business management problems independently, and to implement them in practical solution options. They are qualified to take on a wide range of management tasks in internationally oriented companies. The high practical relevance of the required and elective courses creates ideal conditions for successful professional activity in companies, but also for freelance work.

Depending on the choice of specialization, our graduates find their employers in a wide variety of sectors, ranging from industry and commerce, credit management and insurance, business and personnel consultancies to public administration, international organizations and associations. Within the company, they can take on tasks all along the value chain, such as positions I controlling, finance and taxation, or sales and marketing.
